Should all such waste be collected from the transport vehicle owner? Answer: Yes. The operator (as a rule, the auto repair centre) must collect all hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated during the process of technical maintenance and repairs of motor vehicles. Their surrender to the transport vehicle owner or user is prohibited, except for reusable component parts, which may be returned to the transport vehicle owner drawing up the report on handover and acceptance of component parts of motor vehicles.
Question: Can used motor fuel and oil filters be put into one container at source? Answer: No. In observance of the Waste Management Regulations motor fuel and oil filters have different waste codes and names and therefore such waste should be sorted and placed into separate containers, which must have the label designating hazardous waste prepared in line with the requirements of the Waste Management Regulations. |
